Wildlife of Tadoba
More than the tiger
Tadoba is celebrated for Bengal tigers, but a safari can also reveal leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs (dholes), gaur, sambar, chital, langurs and a wide range of birds. Encounters depend on season, weather, animal movements and chance.

Reading the forest
Naturalists often watch for tracks, alarm calls and changes in animal behaviour. A quiet waterhole or a distant bird call can be as revealing as a dramatic predator sighting.

Wildlife beyond predators
Deer and other herbivores are an essential part of the forest ecosystem.

Responsible wildlife photography
Use quiet camera settings, avoid flash where it disturbs wildlife and never ask a driver to block an animal’s route.
